By delivering high-quality, multidisciplinary storytelling across novels, comics, music, and beyond, we aim to raise the standard of South African cinema, inspire the next generation of creators from all backgrounds, and establish a cultural legacy that proudly represents our nation on the world stage.

The company focuses on developing bold, original African stories with a strong emphasis on transmedia storytelling. Their flagship project is Belgrado, a high-stakes family crime drama set in Cape Town that explores themes of power, legacy, corruption, identity, and family loyalty.

Rooted in township and grassroots authenticity, the studio aims to raise the bar for South African storytelling by creating culturally grounded yet globally resonant narratives.

Open Book Festival | Workshop Week

We are deeply grateful to the Open Book Festival for the opportunity to be part of Workshop Week, where we had the privilege of hosting learners from Silikamva High School, Modderdam High School, Intsebenziswano S.S.S, and Zisukhanyo S.S.S. The experience was both inspiring and impactful, showcasing the creativity and talent of all participants. We proudly celebrate Melissa Svondo of Silikamva High School, along with Silikamva High School, as the winners of our workshop, whose outstanding work and enthusiasm truly stood out.

L.A International Screenplay Awards

Celio Entertainment (Pty) Ltd is proud to announce that our television pilot Belgrado has been selected as a Quarterfinalist in the prestigious L.A. International Screenplay Awards. Meet the Brothers

Silindele Mayipasi and Jason Makiti are the co-founders of Celio Entertainment and the creative minds behind the Belgrado universe. The duo began developing Belgrado while still in high school. In 2025, they co-founded Celio Entertainment to tell bold, original African stories rooted in authentic South African experiences.

Silindele-Okuhle Mayipasi is a writer, filmmaker. As Co-Founder of Celio Entertainment alongside Jason-Sabelo Makiti, he is the visionary force behind Belgrado, a bold South African transmedia universe rooted in powerful family crime drama and authentic storytelling.

He is helping shape a new era of ambitious, globally resonant African narratives.

Jason-Sabelo Makiti is a visionary young storyteller and co-founder of Celio Entertainment, emerging from Cape Town with a quiet intensity that belies his age. He co-created the ambitious Belgrado universe alongside Silindele Mayipasi while still in high school , a bold, cinematic African transmedia saga rooted in raw township authenticity and high-stakes drama.
